The ‘Imagine Creativity Center’, a creativity center aims to generate ideas to change the world has been working with some of Spain’s leading companies and universities, including EOI, University of Deusto, Inle Foundation and IED Barcelona, bringing together participants of different ages, nationalities and expertise.
Sponsored by the ‘Fundación Banesto’, the teams of multidisciplinary experts, from industrial engineers to dolphin trainers have been working throughout the summer to combat problems with four groundbreaking solutions and predictions for the future.
The brainstorming and creation of concepts took place in Silicon Valley, with the help of some of the world’s leading innovators such as Google, HP and NASA aiding the teams.
The four areas that were chosen were- the future of urban mobility, the future of advertising, the future of the shopping experience and smart apparel.
The first idea was that of Urban Mobility, which was developed in collaboration with BMW, and two of Spain’s leading design and engineering universities- IED Barcelona and Institut Cerdà. The project proposed the creation of an environmentally friendly form of transportation called ‘Slide’ which would be similar to cross-country skiing, with shoes with nanovibrators and ski poles with activators.
The other ideas included personalized advertising; virtual changing rooms for online shopping and clothing to help with stimulate sleep and wake people up in a non-disruptive manner.
The innovative ideas were presented for the first time in Spain from the 5-11th of October, in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
