IED Madrid supports the fight against Domestic Violence.

The Instituto Europeo di Design has teamed up with El Mundo´s magazine ‘YO DONA’, Mobext, FNAC and the Department of Women’s Employment and Immigration of the Community of Madrid to the announce sixth annual Visual Arts Competition against domestic violence.
The competition is part of an initiative that has shown continued support for the fight against domestic violence in Spain, and is aimed primarily at students of design, fine arts, architecture, audiovisual communication and advertising.
The competition will be split into two categories- Graphics and Audiovisual. The winning ads will be part of a publicity campaign run by the Community of Madrid for the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’ on the 25th November 2011.
The jury who will be judging the competition include the chief of Social Affairs for the Community of Madrid, the director of 'YO DONA'; the director of IED Madrid, the director of Mobext and the Dirrector of Marketing and Communication of FNAC.
Not only will the winning design be part of an international campaign, the winners will also receive a cash prize 2,000 euros and a place on the course ‘Specialized Typography Design: Form and Communication’ at IED Madrid. The runners-up will be decided by a popular Internet vote, and will receive a place on the course ‘Directing Audiovisual Art: TV, Advertising and Cinema’ and 500 euros.
The deadline for submission is the 10th October 2011 and the winning designs will be announced on 31st October 2011 with the award ceremony taking place in the second half of November at the FNAC headquarters.
