Spain’s Demand in Engineering Studies

There has been an increasing demand for telecommunication and information engineers in Spain. What caught our attention is that in 2015 there will be a need of 50.000 professionals in telecommunication area mentioned at a conference in Benidorm this week. For the last two years the market share towards mobile applications has risen %17. It is not unexpected after all, reaching a level that human beings have started to skydive from space breaking the sound barrier with the help of ultimate technology, the future is definitely in the hands of engineers.

The graduates usually don’t have difficulty in finding a job, additionally they need to adapt themselves to new ideas and recent innovations which is another advantage. Most of the Spanish companies are investing in technology based sectors gradually not only in Spain but also focusing on abroad. There is a wide range of programs offering studies in telecom engineering and you can choose to specialize in one of the areas like Telematics, Communication, Electronics or Robotics. This year according to a ranking list by the newspaper El Mundo, the best 5 undergraduate studies are:

Politecnica de Cataluña
Situated in Barcelona, The Polytechnic University of Catalonia is the largest engineering university in the region. Each student has a tutor to practice with during the whole program. 12 credits of the studies include compulsory internship.

Politecnica de Madrid
The Polytechnic University of Madrid is acclaimed as the top technical university in the ranking list of universities by El Mundo. The school has one of the most unique facilities along with the labs and classes open to full access to students. Also a radiofrequency room and a research building are available in the faculty.

University of Alcalá
Located in Alcalá de Henares, the university is 35 km northeast of Madrid. Each student is assigned to a professor for his specific area of specialization. More than 400 companies like Vodafone and Telefónica are in collaboration with the university.

Malaga University
The Universtiy of Malaga is founded in 1972 and it is a public school. The graduates of these studies usually have a place in the leading companies such as Parque Technológico de Andalucia.

Ramon Llull University
Based in Barcelona, Ramon Llull is a private and non-profit making university. The students can choose various options from different departments of the school that support their studies.
